Meet your new hero, mom Giovanna Fletcher.

The novelist and wife of Tom Fletcher of English pop band McFly was out for a family stroll just 11 days after giving birth to her second son when a fan of her husband's stopped them to ask to take a pic. The fan then pointed to Giovanna's stomach and laughed.

"Oh look," she said. "Mummy's still got her tummy."

Ouch!

And it didn't end there. When Giovanna declined the picture, the fan tossed out yet another body-shaming jab: "Ok maybe another time when your face has slimmed down."

And yes, these ignorant comments came from a woman!

Giovanna, who is mom to Buzz, 23 months, and Buddy, two weeks—took to Instagram to vent about the experience. "I was so shocked I laughed. But the words have stuck with me," she wrote. "More than anything, I was baffled over the stranger's need to share her thoughts… Yes, I still have a bump. But that bump kept my little baby boy safe for a whole nine months. That bump has filled my world with even more love and light than I knew possible. That bump is a miracle worker… My bump will slowly go over time, but I'll never stop being thankful to it and my body for everything it's given me. #spreadlove."

What an amazing response!

"What the comment did was made me look at my body and go "How do I feel about it? How do I feel about this new body that changed after having two children?" Giovanna told Good Morning Britain. "Actually, it's amazing was my thought, and I just think bodies are miracles and the fact my body has grown two children is phenomenal. So I decided to share that."

No shocker here, the post quickly went viral, with more than 65,000 likes, and close to 2,000 comments commending the novelist's outstanding awesomeness.

"Complete admiration to you Mrs F on your wise words and responding in such an inspiring and empowering way!" wrote one.

"Your post natal body is beautiful." wrote another. "And like you say, your body has grown two miracles which you should be forever grateful for."

But we think this succinct comment summed it up best: "Well done #mumoftheyear!"
